Our Approach
Our main objective is to avoid “the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff” when it comes to learning, behavioural and physical challenges.
How?
Neurodevelopmental foundations form the basis of learning, behaviour and functioning, so when it comes to learning or behaviour difficulties, it makes sense for this to be the best starting point of investigation.
Our Unique Approach to Learning and Behavioural Difficulties
STEP ONE:
We start with an initial assessment for early detection of any immaturities within neurodevelopmental foundations that are acting as "invisible" barriers to learning.
STEP TWO:
Once areas of difficulties are identified, we hold a consultation to discuss our findings and explain what action is recommended. This will be followed by a detailed written report outlining the results of the assessment.
STEP THREE:
We then offer early intervention therapies that help strengthen foundational neural pathways and address the underlying immaturities that can be present in diagnosis such as:
Autistic Spectrum DisorderADHD/ADD,
Dyspraxia, Dyslexia
Auditory Processing Disorder Anxiety
Mood Dysregulation Disorder

Developmental Movement Therapy
Developed by educator Audrey McAllen, Developmental Movement Therapy (Extra Lesson™) is based on the knowledge that any immaturity or delay in the development of the underlying faculties of learning causes learning and behavioural difficulties. Combined with the work on retained primitive reflexes by Sally Goddard, of the Institute for Neuro – Physiological Psychology, the Extra Lesson programme revisits the early childhood movement patterns, so that the underlying foundations of learning can be strengthened and restored. The programme has two phases:
Phase One
Developmental exercises, painting, and many other exercises to develop body geography and spatial orientation, gross motor coordination, cerebellum and vestibular function, as well as initial midline crossing and reflex suppression exercises.
Phase Two
Advanced primitive reflex suppression exercises, midline suppression exercises, rhythmical integration therapy, and drawing exercises to develop visual perception.
Integrated Listening Therapy (ILS)
This therapy was developed by Dr Ron Minson, founded on the pioneering work of Dr Alfred Tomatis. Dr Tomatis discovered that it was possible to retrain and improve the processing of sound by the brain stem and cortex using filtered music (i.e. music with certain frequency ranges removed or enhanced) and the sudden and random alteration to the pitch or tone of the music (‘gating’). Using filtered music delivered via earphones and a bone conductor in the headband, the therapy stimulates brain function and matures the auditory system.
What can ILS help with?
You are not defined by your diagnoses. iLs therapeutic products can help with ALL of the following. Find out how.
